ABOUT THE VANCOUVER SOCIAL BOARD
New BLOG at http://vancouversocialboard.com/blog/ The Vancouver Social Board is an open group for all men in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, who wish to improve their social and relationship skills and improve their lives in general. There are many men today who have lost their way because of how they were taught and brought up over the last 50 years. In this fast food online video game culture in particular, men are finding even fewer male role models to learn how to connect with people in life, business, and relationships. The solution? Fortunately all is not lost, the VSB has been set up for men to develop themselves in areas such as love, wealth, career, and of course, self-improvement. This is a social group for men that enourages men to become the best man they can be. The NEW Vancouver Social Board Mandate (February 4th, 2008) The Vancouver Social Board is a men's social improvement group with the mandate to help men improve their lives. Whereas previously the focus was on understanding the nature of the male-female dynamic, now the focus continues to be on social improvement for dating and relationships, but also includes all other men's issues, such as health and wealth, in recognition that the holistic approach to self improvement is the most attractive approach. We do this by providing a social and support network through the use of an interactive forum, events, outings, talks, and through advice, recommendations and counseling, to provide men with help to improve themselves in all areas of personal development including health, wealth and relationships with a specific emphasis on dating and relationships. How we operate The VSB functions in two ways.
This group has been around for three years and has already gone through two generations (we are on the third) of guys. The scene has changed in Vancouver quite a bit after the book, The Game (Neil Strauss), came out. When the group was started, before the book, people wanted to learn how to do better with women and they did because they worked hard at it. Now, after The Game, things have changed and we have been pursuing a social improvement mandate. The one thing you must realize is that learning this skill is not easy and most people drop out before any measure of success. You must be willing to make sacrifices to progress. Please realize that most the group are beginners and the only person who can be accountable to your progress is yourself. The Vancouver Social Board has two rules 1) this is not a competition, we are here to help each other and 2) you must be willing to try. I am adamant that we keep a supportive community and we hope that you will make the best effort to share and be generous with each other. What Activities the Vancouver Social Board Does The following is a list of activities for the VSB for 2008 and this list will be continually updated as we do more activities. We encourage members to suggest activities and to join our Activities Committee, but future plans we have include trips to Portland, Las Vegas, Edmonton, Calgary. More movies nights and goal setting sessions. BBQ's and dinners. And of course, more social outings. We also have plans for talks from image consultants, tantric coaches, hynotherapists, dance instructors, etc... If you are interested in joining, please go to the next page. |
