This has proven to be a very popular group. Of course, after all our mandate is to help men become attractive and social and our members benefit from the generosity of the other members in this group, who volunteer their time and who are largely supportive and encouraging. Many people have improved their social and relationship skills as a direct result of the feedback from his peers.

But because we wish to maintain the integrity of the group, we do have a screening process, so as to weed out those who are non-motivated, journalistic, or just plain bitter and negative. We typically do not invite those who would also violate the privacy of our membership as that is an important issue for many of our members.

ANNOUNCEMENT: We have just changed the membership process for new members to join. It is no longer required that you come on an outing to meet us and take a course, but we *strongly* encourage you to do so.

Admission into the Vancouver Social Board

Currently we get many requests to join the Vancouver Social Board. To join, you must be from the local area and all prospective members much undergo a meeting process with a member of the VSB, as designated at the time by the group owner. The purpose of this meeting is both to educate and screen prospective members.

To gain entry into the Vancouver Social Board, prospective members are encouraged (but not required) to come and meet the membership at a meeting, event, or outing previous to taking our Intro to Game course.

The Intro to Game course, offered through and in partnership with Man Meets Woman (www.manmeetswoman.com), includes an introduction to the VSB, an introduction to approaching and meeting women, a talk on basic wingman rules, and an hour of in-field coaching, at the discounted rate of $100 plus applicable taxes. The Intro to Game course is scheduled every six to eight weeks in Vancouver, BC, Canada.

(We had, at one point tried to set up different tiers of membership, each with a lower cost, but that proved to be ineffective and too hard to administer. This way has proven to be the best way for entry and 10% of the course is taken to be an administrative portion as well).

New members are required to (currently) live in Vancouver for a period of time, and be able to participate to events organized by the VSB, or take part of outings with VSB members. Thus we encourage membership from the local population.

Entry into the Vancouver Social Board means entry into both the Yahoo Group and the VSB Multi-threaded forum.

After entry into the Vancouver Social Board, new members are required to post a quick introduction of themselves in the New Members area of the muti-threaded forum.

The course requirement came about at the request of the general membership who unanimously decided that new members must take the course as there have been too many problems with guys winging, or rather, not knowing how to wing. Based on our recent discussions, this course has changed to become this new course that is specific to the VSB.

The Intro to Game course will consist of a workshop consisting of several topics. We will cover:

	The right attitudes and ways to approach social improvement. What it takes to get good and what you need to understand.
	A brief breakdown of 'game', how to meet and approach people and what you are trying to do in your communication.
	Wingman rules, how you can get along winging and not get into other members way.
	Followed by an hour of in-field coaching.
	*The Intro to Game course is still administered through Man Meets Woman.

Please ensure that there is an email address on your Yahoo account that we can view to contact you with and that you include your real name in the request (so we know who you are). It is important that you then respond as we will look at your previous emails, or lack thereof, as part of our assessment of how committed you are.
